Hello, my name is Gabriel Perez.

Welcome to my website. I document my development in art and my inner-being so that I can give back direct experience. This is also my portfolio website. I hope you have a nice stay and find some things helpful!

Who am I?

Who am I?

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my website!

I will keep it classy, fun, and interesting as best as I could!

My goal is to pick your brain about art, world-building, writing, self-development, spirituality, and other topics of interest to help us grow. I will label each blog post to their respective directories to keep things organized.

Why self-development, spirituality, and other shenanigans you might ask?

They will interconnect as a whole to better understand our being and the artist in us. It is important to know ourselves and work our way towards a happy life by eliminating our cause of suffering.

You can take the information and apply them yourself if you wish! I am sharing what I am learning through experience.

Whether it'd be a personal blog rambling about something, or an insightful one sharing beautiful things that are helping me in my endeavor to create. I know they will help you in your efforts in some way.

To understand the whole, it is necessary to understand the parts. To understand the parts, it is necessary to understand the whole. Such is the circle of understanding.
— Ken Wilbur

A little info about myself.

My name is Gabriel Perez, from Boston, Massachusetts, USA. I am married to my beautiful wife, Nicole Perez, who has been the sole reason for me to have a reason to pursue my art. We have the luxury to complement and motivate each other. We push ourselves so that one day we pursue total world domination like Pinky and the Brain aspires to do so!

My inception in art dragged way back when I was a kid at four years of age. The Ninja Turtles, Batman, and Spider-man were my favorite superheroes to draw for a long while.

Through my early teen years, I was starting to delve into graphic design and 3D abstract in the early 2000's. It was very popular at the time. I followed suit and created many websites, logos, and 3D abstract designs for my portfolio. Although, It didn't last for too long.

This is one of my first 3D abstract design. Down below are 2 of many personal portfolio websites I designed.

It wasn't until my discovery of Craig Mullins that fortified my path in art. I came across many of his Halo concept art that inspired me. Ever since then I have been digital painting as a hobby until 2015.

The images at the bottom of this paragraphs are examples of my first years of creating digital paintings.

The fire that lit the spark

Under many circumstances, I did not have that support from anyone who lit that spark in me to pursue an art career. I relied heavily on the external impressions rather than not follow what my heart, my inner-self, desired. I was living in a false reality that led me to believe that what I wanted to do in life was not up to standard.

The one who lit that spark in me was my wife. I owe it to her big time! I would have been a lost cause without her. Now I have all the support that I need and nothing more.

The woman that lit that spark!

The woman that lit that spark!

She has awoken a repressed artist who has been dormant for so long. All I dream about is to create and help others develop. To learn and experience. And to share what I have experienced.

I need to express myself through my art and stories. The more I am learning and experiencing, the more I want to give back knowledge in return.

With that said, my goal in life is to develop stories that can change peoples lives, and create art that can profoundly impact our hearts. To complete my goals, I must vigorously study and practice the fundamentals of art, writing, and spirituality.

My Spiritual Path

all that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think is what we are.
— The Buddha

Recently, I have dedicated myself to follow a spiritual path. Little did I know that I was going to take such a route. This topic is so profound that it requires a life's work of studies and practices.

Who are we? Where do we come from? What is our purpose? What should we do?

Who are we? Where do we come from? What is our purpose? What should we do?

I can say so far that following a spiritual path in life is a life-changing experience, and that experience is Gnosis.

Those who are asleep believe they are awake. They sleep, and dream that they are awake. To awaken, we first have to realize that we are asleep.
— Gnostic Instructor

This is a topic I will write about another day as it is quite in depth for those interested!
